Library Activities in November

The annual "Food for Fines" program will be taking place at the library through the month of November.  Patrons with fines $5.00 and under can bring in non-perishable food items for the local pantries and have those fines waived.   



REOCCURRING MONTHLY PROGRAMS 

- The Britton Library has treats every Monday from 3 - 5 p.m.

- Family Storytime takes place every Tuesday morning at 10:30.  The program is for children birth - 3 years old with a caregiver.  Children will enjoy engaging stories and participate in fun song-and-dance activities.  Occasionally there may even be an extra special craft project.

- The newly established Addison Book Club meets the first Monday of each month at 1 p.m.  Engage in conversation about monthly books with other avid readers in the area. 

- The Onsted Book Club meets every second Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m.

- There is a monthly board meeting held at the Main Branch every third Tuesday of each month.  These meetings are open to the public.  It is a comfortable place where you can voice your opinions / concerns about the library and its operations. 

- The Lenawee Book Club now has two different meeting times.  The fourth Tuesday of each month (1:00 p.m), and the following Thursday (subject to change depending on surrounding holidays / events) at 6:30 p.m.

- The Onsted and Deerfield Libraries have treats on Wednesday's from 3 - 5 p.m.  The Clayton Library also has treats every Wednesday starting at 4:30 p.m. 

- The Deerfield Book Club meets the third Wednesday of each month to discuss the book of that month.  The discussion starts at 6:30 p.m. and is open to new members and those that love to read and partake in interesting discussions. 

- The Addison Library has snacks on Friday afternoon from 3 - 5 p.m.

- Every Saturday morning the Mini-Movers meet at 10:30 a.m.  This is a storytime aimed towards children between the ages of 3 - 5.  Stories are more captivating and activities a bit more hands-on.

- There is a Scrapbooking and Card Making class every first Saturday of each month at 1 p.m.  The program is for ages 10 and up, and there is a $5.00 fee for materials (if needed).

- The Lenawee Weavers meet the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. - noon.  Weavers of all expertise are encouraged to join.  Get feedback and advice on current projects, or assist someone less skilled than yourself. 

- On the third Saturday of each month, the Lenawee Knitters meet.  The group is a combination of skillsets and ideas; a great place for those who love knitting to come and be surrounded by like-souled individuals.  Meetings take place at 1 p.m. until approximately 3 p.m.

- The monthly book sale takes place the fourth Saturday of each month from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.  There are hundreds of books, magazines, VHS tapes, as well as puzzles to purchase for $1.00 or less.  Donations for the book sale are also always welcome.



SPECIAL NOVEMBER PROGRAMS

- The Clayton Library will be having a Wii / Gaming day on Wednesday November 12th at 4:30 p.m.  Wii system and games, as well as snacks, will be provided.  All ages and grades are welcome, so bring your friends and see who's the best Mario Kart racer!

- Are you crafty?  Do you want to learn how to create your own fall wreath using old book pages?!  Well if so, call and sign up for the Fall Wreath Adult Class taking place on Thursday, November 13th at 6:30 p.m.  Materials will be provided.  Registration is required. 

- Retirement is an important part in all of our lives.  But it can also be difficult to understand the ins-and-outs.  Join us on Wednesday November 19th at 6 p.m. for our Planning for Retirement class.   Call the library to sign-up, as registration is required.

- Writing the perfect resume, and then being proficient in your interview skills are a must if you want to land a job.  And unbeknownst to many, there are steps that go into both.  Are you curious as to what those are, and want to learn more to succeed in both areas?  The library will be having a "Resume and Interview Skill Building" class on Monday November 24th at 6 p.m.  Registration is required so call and reserve your seat soon!

- There will be a Wii / Gaming day at the Onsted Library on Wednesday November 26th at 3 p.m.  Games and Wii system will be provided.

- The Library will be closed the 27th and 28th of November in observation of Thanksgiving.
