Library Activities for June

REOCCURRING MONTHLY PROGRAMS 
Summer Reading Program will be kicking off on June 15th for children, teens and adults.

- The Addison Book Club meets the first Monday of each month at 1 p.m.  Engage in conversation about monthly books with other avid readers in the area. 

- Family Storytime takes place every Tuesday morning at 10:30.  The program is for children birth - 3 years old with a caregiver.  Children will enjoy engaging stories and participate in fun song-and-dance activities.  Occasionally there may even be an extra special craft project.  (No storytime on the 2nd of the 9th)

- There is a monthly board meeting held at the Main Branch every third Tuesday of each month beginning at 5 p.m.  These meetings are open to the public.  It is a comfortable place where you can voice your opinions / concerns about the library and its operations. 

- The Lenawee Book Club meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m.

- The writing group INK. meets the first Saturday of each month at 1 p.m. at the main branch.  The group is for creative writers ages 16 and older. 

- The Lenawee Weavers meet the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. - noon.  Weavers of all expertise are encouraged to join.  Get feedback and advice on current projects, or assist someone less skilled than yourself. 

- On the third Saturday of each month, the Lenawee Knitters meet.  The group is a combination of skillsets and ideas; it is a great place for those who love knitting to come and be surrounded by like-souled individuals.  Meetings take place at 1 p.m. until approximately 3 p.m.

- The monthly book sale takes place the fourth Saturday of each month from 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.  There are hundreds of books, magazines, VHS tapes / DVDs, as well as puzzles to purchase for $1.00 or less.  Donations for the book sale are also always welcome. 

SPECIAL JUNE PROGRAMS 

- The library will be having an art exhibit up through the month of June and July.  Art pieces are contributed by the community.  Make sure to stop in and vote for your favorite work. 

- The Onsted Book Club is meeting on Monday June 8th at 2:00 p.m. 

- The Bookmobile will be visiting the Onsted, Deerfield and Addison branches throughout the summer.  Check out a book and enjoy a fun activity with the bookmobile librarians.  (Stop by the branches to find out the times)

- Summer Reading Club begins June 15th!  Stop by any of the branches and sign up.  There are programs for children, teens and adults; all with prizes for participation.  

- Stop by the Onsted Library on June 17th for Wii, Games and Treats from 3 - 5 p.m.  Enjoy friendly competition with your friends and other patrons.  

-  The Wonder Worker Book Club will meet at Deerfield Library on Wednesday June 17th starting at 6:30 p.m.  

- Come out The Centre for our first Wow! Wednesday on June 17th at 2 p.m.  Check out firetrucks, ambulances and other hometown heroes.  

- BINGO!  It's time again for Bingo at the Library!  Join us on Thursday June 18th at 6 p.m. for Summer Bingo.  Win a round and get a cool prize!  (Registration is required so call the library at (517) 263-1011 to sign up.  Space is limited to the first 30 people.)

- Meet a real life, spandex-wearing, cape-around-the-neck superhero! The Scheer Genius Superhero Stunt Show will teach kids how to read minds, see through steel, and perform stunts possible for saving the city! Program will take place at the Main Branch on Saturday June 20th at 4 p.m.

- Interested in becoming a superhero?  If so, you must first complete superhero training.  Training Part 1 will take place on Monday June 22nd at the Britton Branch Library (2 p.m.) and the Deerfield Library (4 p.m.)

- Ming the Magnificent will be making his way to the Lenawee District Library Main Branch on Wednesday  June 24th at 2 p.m.   His show will not only leave you spellbound, but you will also leave with knowledge about the people behind some of today's greatest illusions.  

-  The Clayton Library will have Superhero Training on Wednesday June 24th at 5 p.m.  

- The Main Branch will be hosting a Veterans Benefits Presentation on Thursday June 25th at 6 p.m.  Call the library at (517) 263-1011 for more information.  

- Superhero Training Part 1 will take place the Main Branch on Friday June 26th at 4 p.m.  

- The Onsted Library will be having Superhero Training Part 1 on Monday June 29th at 2 p.m.  The Addison Library will be having Superhero Training Part 1 at 4 p.m.
